Abstract
Necrotising gingivitis is a disease from the group of necrotising periodontal diseases and is an acute condition in dentistry. Diagnostics is based on particular anamnesis, clinical examination of periodontal tissues and X- ray examination. In this case study, individual treatment plan was created according to actual medical knowing based on evidence – based medicine. After debridement of necrotic tissue, removal of supragingival and subgingival calculus and plaque deposits in local anaesthesia, motivation and home dental care instruction, systemic antibiotic treatment was indicated. Aim of this scientific article was to describe necrotic gingivitis as the acute case in periodontology, its history and complications that can manifest on the periodontium. We describe the importance of supportive periodontal therapy in such patients and propose procedures for maintaining long-term periodontal health (Fig. 2, Ref. 21). Text v PDF www.lekarsky.herba.sk.
